Join us for a guided tour of our nearest star: the Sun.
Duration: Approximately 45-50 minutes
Audience: All ages
Includes General Admission
What to Expect
Observing takes place in the Visitors Center theater, with live views captured by a telescope and projected onto the theater screen.
Your presenter will describe the various types of solar activity you see. These may include sunspots, solar flares, and/or prominences. You’ll learn about the physical characteristics of the Sun and its strong connection to Earth.
What Happens If It’s Cloudy
If clouds or inclement weather cover the Sun, we’ll show archived images from our telescopes and recent images from space and/or ground-based telescopes.
